« To me this animal is the emblem of the circus. I love this rather zany, magical world where everything is possible. Gipsy circus is fascinating and I find it a great source of inspiration, the Romanès circus in particular. It’s full of generosity. It makes me feel good and takes me off to lands afar. »
« Welcome to my caravan! Welcome to my world! You'll see the objects and figures that are dear to me all around – there's Sarah, the Black Virgin, the world of the circus, children, the Hand of Fatima – they make me what I am. They make my brand what it is. Life is a surprise and fashion a trip. »
The Hand of Fatima
« I'm very superstitious so this good-luck charm is always with me. It's as if she protected me. The result? I scatter it throughout my collections and have made it the natural symbol of Manoush. »

« I'm still a little girl at heart. Deep down, there's part of me that still loves shiny fabrics, princess costumes and fairytales. When we are little, the world is our oyster, we're not afraid of anything, anyone or being ridiculous. Life and the world are ours to enjoy. »
Sarah, the Black Virgin
« Travellers carry her statue. Trailing behind them is an entire poetical, magical universe that sets me dreaming. They are freedom personified. Their nonchalance is truly inspiring and their life one of surprise. I like to think that my fashion designs are just the same. »

« This is where the Manoush adventure actually began so it holds a special place in my heart. It was my first best seller – at the time I customised it with my oriental dance scarves. Since then, I have dressed it differently for every season. It might be embroidered with sequins, hands of Fatima, scraps of lace or pom-poms, etc. »

« I have a weakness for animals. Even when I was a little girl, I would take them into our home. When I was just 10 I spent all my pocket money to buy a donkey. I called him Julien and he followed me everywhere. Nowadays, each of my collections are connected with an animal. There's been the tiger, the rabbit and the fox, etc. »
